A CD of the music of Brian Bonsor – Bravo Bonsor! has recently been released. One of the outlets for this CD is here at May Hill Edition. The CD, sponsored by the Society of Recorder Players, was recorded in recognition of Brian’s Bonsor’s huge contribution to the world of recorder playing and teaching. It was recorded in August 2012 and the players are the Amici Recorder Ensemble, conducted by Helen Hooker. The ensemble comprises thirty of the country’s finest orchestral recorder players and they are joined by James Letham, a pianist with whom Brian played regularly. All of the performers gave their time and skills free of charge and all proceeds from sales of the CD will go to the Society of Recorder Players. This CD, which contains many of Brian’s best known compositions and arrangements, will no doubt be the perfect present for any recorder player or recorder aficionado! |
