Rural Recorder Course September 2017

Rural Recorder Course September 2017

Conducted by Helen Hooker, Ann Marshall and Steve Marshall

Wednesday 20 September to Sunday 24 September 2017

Llanerchindda Farm, near Llandovery

This is a small course, aimed at good moderate players. This was the first course we put on at this venue, and we achieved the friendly and relaxed ‘house party’ feel we had aimed for. We have now had five such ‘Rural Recorder Courses’, all great fun and musically interesting, and so we are confident that this sixth will be as successful as all the others.

As always, the conducting team is Helen Hooker, Ann Marshall and Steve Marshall, who share the conducting honours pretty equally. The tutors compare notes carefully to ensure that there is a very wide variety of music played.

The course takes place over an increasingly-long weekend, this time from Wednesday 20 September to Sunday 24 September 2017.

Llanerchindda Farm is an excellent venue. It is deep in mid-Wales with breathtaking views, excellent food, welcoming owners and bedrooms that are full of character. It’s the perfect venue for a recorder event.

The price depends on the type of accommodation chosen, and ranges from £395 to £480.

Llanerchindda is a small venue, and it is particularly important that we have a good balance of instrument sizes and reasonably similar playing standards. Therefore, if you would like to come, please let Ann know (on 01452-831654 or ann@mayhill.co.uk). We can’t emphasise enough that it is not first-come-first-served, because we will need to see who is interested first, and then decide which combination of players would work well together.

At the time of writing we have just one room left – a twin without ensuite. If you are interested in taking that room, please get in touch with Ann.
