Newsletter No 2

January 2015

Thank you for being on the distribution list for these occasional emails about Playing Days and Courses run by Ann and Steve Marshall, under the banner of ASRE (Ann & Steve’s Recorder Events) .

This second newsletter is to let you know that the ASRE website has been updated, and it now describes five events taking place in 2015.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Ann:

This is useful when course bookings have not yet opened – you can register an interest with Ann, which we can bear in mind if the course looks like selling out very quickly (something we are delighted to say happens quite often).

Event details are all on the website, but here is an at-a-glance summary…

Rural Recorder Course 4
Conducted by Helen Hooker, Ann Marshall and Steve Marshall
Thursday 16 July to Sunday 19 July 2015
Llanerchindda Farm, near Llandovery
A small course, aimed at good moderate players. This was the first course we put on at this venue, and we achieve a friendly and relaxed ‘house party’ feel, which is also musically interesting. At the time of writing we have two places remaining.

Mansion House Recorder Orchestra Weekend
Conducted by Helen Hooker, Ruth Burbidge, Ann Marshall and Steve Marshall
Friday 23 to Sunday 25 October 2015
The Mansion House, Old Warden Park, Biggleswade SG18 9DX
We will produce a brochure for this residential course within the next few weeks, but there will be no surprises – the structure of the course is similar to previous recorder orchestra courses, in that each time slot will feature orchestras of both greater and lesser difficulty. Prices will be very reasonable. Bookings should be open around the end of March.

As with other ASRE courses, you are welcome to register an interest in this weekend, even before bookings open (and some already have); just contact Ann.
